Newsletter #2

In this weeks newsletter I have 10 attachments with a brief description below. We have a basketball theme, a learning theme, and a leadership theme.

• Attached is a sample 45 minute basketball workout with the description we used this week.
• I really enjoyed the Deliberate Practice video and articles that I came across and really wanted to share. I loved the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, and this does tie in to it. 
• Coach Matt Hackenberg has a great YouTube channel that I stole this video from. We incorporated these drills and philosophy into our program last year. I have the 15 minute video and notes to go along with the video.

• My coaching friends and I put on a basketball skills camp this summer. It was called Next Level Basketball 419. Attached is a 7 minute preview video of the 3 day camp. The link at the bottom of the page will take you directly to the site.

Welcome to my first attempt at a coaching and leadership newsletter. I am on many different coaching newsletters and websites and try to read as much as I can. I like to share out with my friends the articles I really enjoy. I am part of a small group of coaches got together and put on a skills camp, Next Level Basketball 419, and this newsletter will be an extension of the camp.

• 4 player workout, part 1 - offense. This is a 18 page packet I have created to use this fall to use in our work outs. I have taken all of our favorite drills that we have stolen from other practices, clinics and videos and turned them in to 4 player version.
• Zak Boisvert Leadership notes, September 2016 - taken directly from his website, Pickandpop.net. He takes notes on all his favorite articles, then compiles them into one spot.
• Zak Boisvert Tom Herman notes. Again, stolen from his website, really good stuff on University of Houston Football coach.
• Bill Belicheck PDF. An oral history from ESPN the magazine.
• Tom Thibideau article from ESPN.
